Qanba 2009 has everything I wanted
Fantastic unit. Good build quality. Easy to assemble. Robust and sturdy desk with arcade standard parts. Pretty quickly after I started using this, I lost most of my incentive to use all my other fight sticks, including some highly customized controllers that I have spent upwards of $650 on. Really great desk, top to bottom. Compared to some fightsticks where the retail price starts to approach $500, this thing is truly great value for money. I understand that it won't always be feasible to create controllers that are compatible with other game consoles, so it's smart of them to make upgrades easy by sticking to standard sizes for existing third party PCBs. I'm sure that the limited console compatibility will be a little deterrent for some people, but for me, it works great. The existing PCBs are snappy and responsive on my windows gaming PC. Very professionally done. One minor nitpick, the colors of the buttons in their default configuration don't match the labels of the colors assigned to the buttons in X-input mode. It's confusing when the X on the screen is blue and the X on the controller is a different color, but blue is there too. I understand it may have something to do with Neo Geo, but it would still be easier if it just matched what I was using.

Qanba 2009 has everything I wanted
I have been holding out buying one of these for a while, because I thought I didn't have the space for it in my house and I would not be able to use it anywhere. But I was curious about it and wanted one for a while, so eventually picked it up at a sale price, and I removed my computer desk to make room for this one. I'm very happy, and I feel like this product delivered *way* more value than it cost me. It was simple and straightforward to build the base, and the joystick console came preassembled and could just be slotted into place. There is lots and lots to praise, and very little to nitpick. Desk height is about the same as my office desk, build quality is good, individual parts are good. I wish it was just a couple inches deeper and maybe an inch or two wider. Regarding the parts: I've been using Fightsticks for years and years now, and have tried all kinds of parts including Sanjuks, Crown, multiple kinds of Seimitsu products, Qanba parts, open source, SiTong, iL, Sunmulon, and stuff from boutique makers as well. With that perspective, I had low expectations for the stock parts. Just a JLF and some Sanwa clones. But the overall product proved to me that for all the time, effort and money I've spent chasing down the perfect parts, I am totally happy with a stock JLF and basic buttons if they're delivered in the right package. The Qanba D-lites are simple, but good buttons. This product is fantastic. Regarding the PCBs: Lots of positive and a little bit of negative here. The controller boards are smartly incorporated into a separate circuit board that acts as both a USB Hub and an optional USB switch, so you have both controllers connected at once, and can output both of them to multiple different devices if you want. The controller boards are sized to fit Brook boards and GP2040-CE advanced breakout boards exactly. All that is needed to upgrade is a pair of needle nose pliers and possibly some new cables. No soldering needed, and 90% of the work or more would be just a matter of plugging the relevant harnesses in without having to source additional wiring. That means there is an easy, clean upgrade path if you want additional console compatibility. As long as the rectangular Universal Fighting Board size remains a standard, it will be easy to upgrade this device in the future. But the existing PCBs feel great. That said, there's no noticeable latency used on my Windows gaming PC, so I'm not in any hurry to change the boards. Unfortunately the instruction manual on how to use the circuit board inside leaves something to be desired. It just doesn't explain very well how to work the dip switches on the USB hub/switch board, which will be necessary to configure third party PCBs.
